Bride & Groom looking very happy. |
? I can't say that I have been waiting anxiously for this moment, but its here, so I am ready to embrace it. The Royal Wedding has been the most talked about event of 2011 so far. Everywhere you go, every television channel - its all been about The Royal Wedding

Royal bride Kate Middleton with her sister Pippa. |
? For me, well my main concern is the dress. And i must say, Kate Middleton did not disappoint. The beautifully blushing bride looked absolutely elegant in a long-sleeve lace, ivory and satin gown with flattering V neckline and 8-foot-long train, a simple lace-edged veil and understated (for royal standards) tiara sparkling over her half up, half down hairdo.
The beautiful gown was designed by Sarah Burton, the creative director of British fashion house Alexander McQueen! How fabulous is that! I think the dress was a perfect balance of modernity & tradition. She actually kinda reminded me of Grace Kelly.
The bodice and skirt's lace applique was handmade by the Royal School of Needlework, while the dress is made of ivory and white satin gazar. The pleated skirt was made to resemble an "opening flower", and the bodice, which was "padded at the hips, draws on the Victorian tradition of corsetry." Kate's ivory duchess satin heels were also courtesy of Alexander McQueen. And well, who can forget the bling. Queen Elizabeth II lent Kate the Cartier-designed "halo" tiara, and the teardrop diamond earrings were a personal gift from her parents.
All I have to say is beautiful :)
